SUMMER LISTING

This is my second year into adulthood summers and honestly, I don’t hate it. Sure, I miss the slight anticipation of knowing I’ll be stocking up on school supplies in September. And I definitely miss the bliss of parents paying for food during summer break but other than that, count me in! Summer as an adult is so much more fun, because you can do 100% of what you want to do. Like go to bed at 7pm, or eat a pint of ice cream for lunch and call it good. Not that I’ve ever done those, I’m just making up examples. ;)

In the spirit of a new season, here is my summer bucket list! I’m not married to it, but it’s nice to have a list around for those listless days where you “have nothing to do” (quotations because cleaning the house is always an option, but definitely less enjoyable.) If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed that I already crossed (chopped?) one of these off the list.

Summer Listing, according to Karissa

  1. Make A Mood Board. Set the tone! Is this a coastal grandmother summer or a berries and cream kind of season? Hot girl walks or fit-tok focused? Humans are visual, even more so in the 21st century. Do yourself a favor and cast a vision for the summer.

  2. Make Summer Bucket List. Bonus points if the list includes free things, solo self care things, fun friend things, and eating ample amounts of popsicles.

  3. Check It Off. Consider yourself a summertime Santa and check that list twice.

  4. Share the Summertime Joy! Sorry Lana, but no summertime sadness here. Share your summer listing, and by share I mean on IG and with me so I can stalk and celebrate accordingly.

Apparently I’m seeking self discovery, sea shells, and pushing through Sunday Scaries. PS: You can follow me on Pinterest to see an ever updated version!

Cute Visual, K. But where is the real list you ask? Well it’s on IG, and here. ;)

A few worth explaining…

Architectural Digest Home Tours:

Something you have to know is that I GREW UP ON HGTV. Consider me born and bred for demo day, and a well traveled woman thanks to endless episodes of House Hunters International. Ironically now, I find myself shocked that most of my social media management clients are Interior Designers but in all reality, this has been a long time coming. Arch Digest home tours are the grown up version of HGTV, and I’m sad that it took me 26 years to digest them, pun 100% intended.

I’ve already spent one Saturday morning browsing a few tours and it’s safe to say, this tradition might last long past summertime.

Gratitude Night

When Connor interrupted me during work the other day, I assumed it would be about when I was going to make lunch. Thankfully for him, it was actually a request to add a “Gratitude Night” to the summer bucket list. Of course that melted my heart and I promised to have dinner on the table at 6pm, till death do us part. Just kidding! We’re a modern household that adopts new traditions, like men having emotions and sharing them!!! Apparently Gratitude night will include a few (non toxic) candles, and writing thank you notes to people who have impacted us, but I’ll keep you posted.

Things Hanging Over Me

People talk about fight or flight, but I have alarming levels of FREEZE. If something imitates me, or is remotely confusing, I freeze. Right now there’s a wintery chill hanging around a few things involving post offices, money, and business stuff in my life. Thankfully I have the 1oo degree Texas heat as a constant reminder to thaw the ice and get these things done, so I can enjoy my summer!

Checked Off So Far?

Social Media Goals, social media, management, social media

Going to The Farmers Market

We spent our entire monthly grocery budget in 5 minutes, all I have to show for it are these silly little alfalfa sprouts! Let’s just say that buying pasture raised, organic, non-GMO, toxin free, pioneer approved food is not for the faint of heart.

PS: If you’re in Austin, we went to the Sunset Valley Farmers Market and loved it. Way less wooden carvings and random jewelry, more truly farmer things.

Finishing my Needlepoint

And certifying my grandma status! I finished while watching the Kardashians, and the irony of that combo is not lost on me.

I used this design from Abigail Cecile, for any other old souls with a dash of Kardashian out there. ;)

Browsing at Tiny Grocer

Browsing is one of my hobbies. But put me in an aesthetic grocery store full of premium packaged (and priced) foods with perfectly in stocked shelves? That’s my kind of heaven. Therefore, Tiny Grocer, a boutique grocery store that sells all those fancy foods you probably don’t need but definitely do, is perhaps the most perfect place on earth. Talk abut sparks of joy! I’ll be eyeing everything on Aisle 6 if you need me.

wife Chop Club

The only thing that can make you feel more married than “I Do.” I finally got my Kit Kittredge haircut and I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend a dramatic haircut or color to reinvent yourself! It’s always fun.

Happy Summer Listing to You and yours!
